Ladies outmanoeuvre The Army

On Sunday 17th May SLTC of GB Ladies went to Aldershot to play against a team from The Army. We won 4-0 but the tennis was excellent and very friendly, with all matches being closely contested.

Players representing The Army had come from places far and wide including Shropshire and the Isle of Wight! Our team, mainly from the London and Surrey area, consisted of Penny Wyatt, Susie Reid, Amelia Robinson and Jenny Cox. We were all grateful to Jenny for stepping in at the last minute when one of our team had to withdraw due to injury.

Luckily the weather allowed the match to take place outside in the sun which added to the enjoyment.

Everyone was grateful to The Army for providing lunch afterwards. We hope to arrange another fixture next year.

Ann Collings - Match Manager.
